The Issue

Lobbyists attempt to get the ear of politicians to influence them to vote on issues that interest the party they work for. I personally believe that lobbyists should be illegal. They are looking out for their employer's interest, not yours. They cost us money by influencing politicians towards their interests and not the interest of all. There are some lobbyists that represent good causes. But most of them do not. Most of them represent an industry trying to change law that benefits their industry no matter who or what it affects.

Suggestions to Fix the Problem

Unfortunately this type of change will take congress to pass a law. So we need to convince Congress to pass a law to take care of this problem. And we must convince them that the law basically outlaws them. If not, they will just pass a 2-million word law that attempts to put restrictions on them and then in the end will do nothing. It will look like the tax law. Bottom line - we just need to outlaw them.
